This hand-painted plate is inspired by The Derby at Epsom (1821) by Théodore Géricault, where the black horse embodies the power and lightning speed of horse racing. Painted in full stride, it appears suspended in mid-air, reflecting Géricault’s passion for movement and animal energy. Its dark coat contrasts sharply with the lighter tones of the composition, enhancing its dynamism. Its tense posture, prominent muscles, and determined gaze convey the intensity of the competition. Through this depiction, Géricault captures the decisive moment of the race, where strength and grace merge in an explosion of speed and emotion.

Each design is created and hand-painted in an artisanal atelier in Paris.

A little note : Since each plate is hand-painted, the lines and colors may slightly vary. Each plate is individually hand-painted after an order is placed, ensuring a unique creation.
